Research and creation with ex-combatants who signed the peace agreement in Colombia, fashion brands based on social and environmental justice, and academia. We co-creatively developed a fashion collection as well as Jardines, a documentary video that has been presented in various countries and cultural fairs.
During the fifth edition of Bogotá Fashion Week, the city's most important fashion week, Edward Salazar brought television audiences of Canal Capital closer to fashion as a stage for culture. It was the first time that BFW was broadcast on television to democratize access to design.
Otredad, Infinite Dialogues, by artist and photographer Andrés Marti, is a limited edition of 50 copies designed as a photobook, an artwork, and a dialogue between the images and the unveiling of them by Edward Salazar in his texts. These texts establish a conversation between the artistic image and the poetic language.
The first critical fashion studies podcast in Colombia and Latin America, created and hosted by Edward Salazar and Vanessa Rosales, with financial and logistical support from Universidad Santo Tomás and the Akorde Media platform. 12 episodes focused on the structural analysis of fashion through history, culture, academic research, and political critique.
Art exhibition presented at the El Dorado Gallery in Bogotá, as a result of a research-creation process by Paula Amador, Edward Salazar, and curator William Contreras, focusing on the aesthetics of domestic space and its notions of taste, gender, and class.
This exhibition at the Espacio Interferencia Gallery addresses the archives of Colombian photographers Manuel Humberto Rodríguez (1920-2009) and Nereo López (1920-2015) from the National Library, thanks to the research grant awarded by the Ministry of Culture. The central thread is a key question: the Bogotá middle class between 1950 and 1979, portrayed through seemingly invisible subjects.
Cultural Magazine, founded in 2012, was one of the first independent digital media outlets specializing in the culture of Bogotá. As a collective project, i.letrada received several recognitions, including a nomination for Best Cultural Project by the British Embassy in Colombia, as well as arts and culture grants from public institutions.
